There are many mistakes new webmaster’s make when launching websites. One of the top mistakes in neglecting site functionality and only concentrating on design. You can have the best design in place with high quality content, but what’s the use if your site is ridden with broken links? All too many times people are in a rush to get their site out to the public. These people end up making mistakes or not having enough content up to keep readers attention.

An analytics tool should be installed on your website prior to launch day. This will help you measure the statistics and understand how your site performs and what kind of conversion rates you’re getting. With many different analytics tools available, it can be a hard decision deciding which one to use. They all prove the same basic information, although some will provide much more information than other tools. Undeniably the most powerful analytics tool available to website owners is Google Analytics. Using Google Analytics is easy. After you have finished creating your website, go sign up at Google Analytics. You will be giving a snippet of code to install on your website. Once the code is verified by Google Analytics, you will be able to see all kinds of statistics about your website.

Inspect the links on your website and ensure that they all work properly. Sometimes a few of the links may be broken. This can easily happen during copy/paste. Do not assume that things are okay until you check all links. It would be a horrible think for your links to malfunction. Think about that for a moment. Not being able to get a sale because the link was broken is a bad thing. In addition, ensure that the links are leading to the correct site and that your site navigation is good.

So your website looks great, the design’s just perfect and there’s nothing wrong – until you switch on to another browser. Before your site is launched, you should check how compatible the browser is for the site. Your website must be compatible with browsers like IE, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Based upon what they like, people will have different browsers. A lot of times your website might look okay with one browser, but look totally different with another one. This is why you should do a compatibility check and make sure that your website looks okay with all browsers. Overall, how your website performs and what kind of results it gives depends on many different factors. Your website may not be perfect when you launch it and you will make your share of mistakes, but these can always be corrected. But that doesn’t mean you simply take it easy and let your site launch in whatever condition it is. Put in consistent effort before the launch and even after it, so that you are able to get the highest conversions/sales from it.
